NEW PROJECT! Mini Themed Units fo each stage!

I AM CURRENTLY WORKING ON SOME MINI THEMED UNITS THAT INCLUDE A VARIETY OF WORKSHEETS AND LIST OF IDEAS BASED ON THE THEME. 

Each unit is 16 pages long including a title page and a variety of literacy and numeracy worksheets that cover: theme words, handwriting, writing, equations, comprehension, labeling, prefixes and suffixes, spelling, general knowledge, number, space, measurement, etc.

Activities require students to be: creative, use prior knowledge, use their imagination, make decisions, follow instructions, use problem solving skills, etc.

All worksheets are circulated around the theme and includes an extra page of additional activities you may like to implement.

All activities are fun, neat, unique and reproducible. Print all or a selection of pages and make into work books to use during the duration of your unit.

Each unit can be purchased on its own or in its collection (Book of 5). Im working stage by stage and aim to complete several collections in each. Keep watching as they unfold!!!

My ABCs Book - Individual and Complete Sets!!

This resource is part of a set of unique and fun resources; a valuable resource to have when teaching children the Alphabet.

There are 27 resources: 1 for each letter of the Alphabet and 1 with the complete set = 27 Books in One!

Each Individual Book is centred around a letter of the Alphabet and includes several Literacy and Numeracy worksheets that were designed to spike children's interest.

Pages are fully reproducible for classroom use.

Talking & Listening Games!!

Talking and Listening Game

for the Whole Class!!

  

* Print, laminate and seperate cards.
* Distribute cards, one to each student (some may have two as all 36 cards must be used).
* The student with the 'starting' card begins by reading out their card.
* Each student must listen carefully to identify which question links with their answer.
* When they hear the appropriate question, they follow on by reading aloud their card for the next person.
* Continue around the room till each card has been read and you finish with the 'end' card.

The game can be played over and over again with the cards been re-distributed each time.
Its great fun for the whole class and quick and simple to implement. Keep each game in a snaplock bag and all bags in a box and simply grab the one you want to play and hand out the cards and your ready to go.

With 2011 well underway and programs and units on their way, time is becoming limited already!!

But not to worry...A Teachers Helping Hand is here to help!!

NSW Aussie Teachers this is for YOU!!

(most useful to those using the NSW Department of Education's Connected Outcome Group units but can be used and downloaded by anyone)

We were all gratefully blessed when the Department of Education released the line of COGS units for Early Stage 1 through to Stage 3 classes. It has saved much time with numerous themes, ample lessons and variety, outcomes, resources, assessment and links across Key Learning Areas for teachers, as they incorporate ideas into their own programs. Unfortunately however the only thing they didn’t include are the “worksheets” described during the unit.

This is where these Activity Books come in handy!!

Where written activities are described and require “worksheets”, I’ve designed and included them into these Activity Books; aiming to keep them appealing and fun whilst addressing the needs focussed on in the unit.

Whilst these “worksheets’ can be used for multiple purposes they are intended to compliment the DET Units and for this purpose the DET units must be downloaded (FREE) as well for further guidance. 

Worksheets are in the same order as is the DET units. Where topics/focuses are ‘bold’ in the DET units, the contents page in the Activity Book includes those same bold headings and descriptions of the worksheet for easy manipulation and location.

I’ve begun to create Activity Books that work cooperatively with the NSW Department of Education’s ‘Connected Outcome Groups’ units. Activity Books include a Cover Sheet, Contents Page and numerous “worksheets” that are photocopiable for classroom use.

I will attempt to release new ‘Activity Books’ each week as I do them so keep an eye out but these are for starters!! If you require any sooner than please let me know and Ill jump them up the list.
