Story Writing Prompts

These creative Story Writing Prompts are Fantastic!
Simply, print and cut up and put in a container ready for the children.

We all know the struggles students sometimes have when they asked to do creative writing.
"What to write about?" is the big question!!
And this resource.....is the ANSWER!!

Students randomly pick a writing prompt out of the container, follow the instructions and glue it into their books and away they go writing......

There are a variety of different prompts:
- Title Twisters: which have a title for students to write a story about. 6 pages of 8 = 48 total!!
- Picture Pointers: a picture that relates to the story they are writing about. 13 pages of 4 = 52 total!!
- Sentence Starters, Spliters & Endings: a sentence that will need to put somewhere into the story they write about. 13 pages of 8 = 104!!
- "Putting yourself in someone else's shoes" Imaginative/Creative Scenarios: a scenario in which the student must imagine they an object, place, etc and write from someone elses point of view. 3 pages of 8 = 24 total!!

 This is my favourite and how it all began!

Students love competitive games and this is a fantastic way to incorporate the childrens leanring into a fun interactive game for the whole class!!

You'd be surprised how quickly children recall information and pictures you've been trying to teach them for weeks :)

This is fantastic resource for Classroom Teachers even CASUAL TEACHERS!

Simply print the set of 30 cards and 1 flashcard sheet, laminate and cut up.

I keep mine in 30 snaplock bags (1 card per bag) with sufficient coloured counters so that the game is ready to go as I hand them out of their compact little Bingo Box!


When ready to play simply shuffle the flashcards and randomly call our cards.

Quick and Easy to Play - no preparation!
